Chris and I are just back from a great May bike tour with VBT 3 hours north of Rome. We averaged 30 miles per day through country roads and along the coast. The outrageous part was the wild flowers. The main character in the landscape was the red poppy. I have loved the California poppy, but this dark red beauty was just so striking. I didn’t do any biking before the trip, so I ended up walking my bike up a lot of hills. That allowed me to really get into the smells and feel of the wild flowers that abounded. There were purple thistles, yellow daisy like flowers, violet little tender things that looked like buttercups and white false carrots. The color mix was spectacular. All of these were the accents to the red poppies. I was a visitor in a landscape that was just beautiful.
I love this kind of traveling out in nature, mixed with a little red wine, olive oil and great company. By the way, I highly recommend Vermont Bike Tours to anyone.
Today my friend Jeffrey Courson, of Conscious Journeys, (www.consciousjourneyskauai.com) led me to the center of a Lehua forest in Kokee. The red luminescent flowers were in full bloom and the buzzing beas beat us to the early morning quest. Without getting stung, I manage to free a group of blooms, which I placed in the bowl of water and located in the midst of a group of Ohia trees. The energy of the forest was pristine at that time. The air was clean and rich. The Lehua blossoms dominated the mountain top, rising above the white blossoms of the black berries, which covered almost every inch of available ground. A walk into the Alakai Swamp and then down to the stream below Sugi Grove filled our day, as the sun and the energy of the forest assisted in the flower essence process back in the Ohia grove. By the time we returned the blossoms were luminescent, their fingers dripping with water. The color of red was deeper and stopped us in our tracks as soon as we came back into view of the bowl.
The feminine energy of the flowers supported me and rekindled my love of Lehua, this red goddess of the mountains. I feel very good about this mother tincture, which is curing in the energy stabilizers in my office. A hard day at work, but somebody has to do it. Ha ha.
This is the first entry on what I think will be a very helpful way to communicate on issues that are of interest to users of the Starmen site.
